Andhra Pradesh government aims to finish caste census by February 15

The Andhra Pradesh government plans to complete the ongoing caste census by February 15, 2024, as promised by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Ministers and employees have been urged to follow the guidelines set for the census. The census will not only collect information on caste but also socio-economic data, employment, and education.

The government decided on the revised deadline after realizing the importance of efficient data collection. They aim to use their extensive network to collect accurate data and gain a comprehensive understanding of the demographics in the communities. Strategies such as door-to-door counting, flexibility in adding or deleting missed individuals, data consolidation and report preparation, and training for data mapping will be employed to finalize the survey.
