Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan receives high praise from KCR for commitment to annual pension increase

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) praised his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, possibly to send a message to BRS leaders and members about the party’s stance. This comment appears to be a taunt towards five ministers who expressed their support for N Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party who is currently in judicial custody.

Ministers M Malla Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, and MLA D Sudheer Reddy had spoken in favor of Naidu, claiming that his arrest was unlawful. Finance Minister T Harish Rao also made a sarcastic remark about Naidu’s imprisonment at the age of 73. However, KCR’s statement will put an end to such comments within the party.

During the release of the BRS party manifesto at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday, KCR announced that the Asara pensions will be increased from Rs 2,016 to Rs 5,016. He clarified that the increase will not be an immediate fake promise like the Congress party, but will be implemented gradually. In the first year of their next term, the pension will be raised to Rs 3,000, and then by Rs 500 every year until the end of the fifth year.

KCR highlighted that the same successful scheme is being implemented by Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government in Andhra Pradesh. They initially started with a Rs 2,000 pension, which has now been increased to Rs 3,000. Similarly, Telangana will increase it by Rs 500 each month to ensure that the burden on the treasury is not excessive.
