Andhra CM Jagan’s convoy faced resistance from farmers protesting land compensation - Watch video

Farmers in Thumparthi and Motumaru villages are protesting against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan’s convoy. The farmers were trying to stop the convoy on April 26 in Anantapur district. They were seen shouting and holding papers as they attempted to stop the speeding cars on the road at Potula Nagepalli. However, police officers stationed along the road pushed away the farmers to maintain control of the situation. According to media reports, the farmers were protesting because they have not received compensation after officials acquired 210 acres of land from them for constructing houses for underprivileged people.

On April 26, CM Jagan attended a programme in Narpala constituency to credit beneficiaries of the “Jaganna Vasathi Dewena” scheme. After the programme, he was scheduled to board a helicopter to Puttaparthi. However, there was a technical issue with the helicopter, so vehicles were arranged for his road trip to Puttaparthi, which is about two hours away from Narpala. The CM arrived at Puttaparthi airport at 3:20 pm and departed for Vijayawada’s Gannavaram Airport.
