Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Bhagyalakshmi temple near Charminar in Hyderabad and offered prayers. He was accompanied by Union Minister and Telangana BJP president G. Kishan Reddy and other state leaders of the party.
Amit Shah later posted on social media that he felt fortunate to have worshipped at the Bhagyalakshmi temple. He prayed for the well-being and prosperity of all citizens. The police had made tight security arrangements for his visit, with traffic being diverted around Charminar and Mecca Masjid.
Amit Shah is in the city to attend a BJP state-level meeting and plan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana. This is his first visit to the state after the recently concluded Assembly polls, where the BJP performed poorly, winning only eight seats out of 119. The Union Home Minister held a meeting with state BJP leaders to review their performance and urged them to work together for better coordination in the upcoming elections. Later, Amit Shah also met with party leaders at the mandal level on the outskirts of the city.
