Alampur Sanitation Workers Struggle to Survive Without Pay

The sanitation workers in various village panchayats of the Alampur constituency are facing severe financial problems. Their salaries have not been paid for several months, making it hard for them to meet daily needs. These workers wake up early to clean streets, collect garbage, and maintain public hygiene, yet they struggle to survive without their earnings.

Despite their hard work, they are unable to speak up about their problems. They fear that complaining to authorities could lead to negative consequences. Many workers say they have been given false promises about salary payments, but no money has been deposited in their accounts. Because of this delay, some workers and their families are going without proper food, causing them great distress.

The workers are frustrated as they see higher officials receiving their salaries on time while they continue to wait for theirs. “How are we supposed to survive when our small wages are withheld for months?” questioned one worker. They feel helpless and do not know whom to approach for justice.

To make matters worse, the workers claim they are threatened with warnings if they fail to report to work. They are expected to work daily but receive no concern when it comes to their wages. Many of them say that during festivals like Ugadi, they were unable to provide proper meals for their families due to the financial crisis caused by the unpaid salaries.

The sanitation workers are now urging the government to take immediate action. They request at least one month’s pending salary to be released to give them some relief. If the administration does not respond soon, their hardships will only increase, making survival even more difficult for them and their families.
