An Infection Prevention and Control Awareness Program, called ICAP – 2024, was held at Ajara Hospitals on Mulugu Road in Warangal on Thursday. The goal of the program was to educate healthcare workers on how to prevent infections in hospitals and improve patient safety.
The event focused on several important topics, including infection prevention, protecting health, and maintaining cleanliness in healthcare environments. It also addressed antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which is caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. AMR is a growing global health issue. The program also aimed to raise awareness about preventing infections that can occur in healthcare settings.
Ajara Hospital’s Managing Director, Dr. B. Siva Subrahmanyam, Microbiologist Dr. S. Sridevi, and Intensivist Dr. Mohd Fasihuddin shared their expertise on these critical issues. More than 100 doctors and nurses from hospitals in Warangal, Hanamkonda, and Kazipet attended the program.
As part of the event, participants visited six stalls set up at the hospital to learn about methods to prevent infections. These demonstrations were designed to provide practical knowledge for infection control.
Doctors and nurses who attended the event praised Ajara Hospitals for its efforts in promoting infection prevention. Many attendees expressed how the program helped them understand effective strategies to control infections. Dr. B. Siva Subrahmanyam emphasized that Ajara Hospitals is committed to delivering top-quality healthcare while ensuring patient safety by preventing infections.
