Hyderabad: Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has urged officials to use technology extensively to ensure that only deserving people benefit from the prestigious Indiramma Indlu scheme. According to the Minister, leveraging technology will help the government prevent corruption and close any loopholes.
During a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, the Minister announced that the government would use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to monitor the progress of house construction daily, from anywhere in the state. He explained that this would minimize irregularities in both construction and payment processes. Additionally, advanced technology will be used to identify the truly poor for the scheme.
Officials were instructed to carefully filter out ineligible families and select eligible ones by cross-verifying survey data gathered through a mobile app with AI-enabled cloud technology. This approach aims to ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process.
The Minister highlighted that AI is being utilized throughout the entire process, from selecting beneficiaries to completing house construction. A special app has already been developed, and a survey conducted to identify beneficiaries in a transparent manner.
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy assured that these measures would eliminate political interference and prevent other departments from influencing the selection process. He stated that the focus would be on helping the poorest of the poor, disabled individuals, widows, and transgenders in the first phase of the housing scheme.
