The Rachakonda Special Operations Team, along with the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), conducted a raid at a house in P&T Colony, Saroornagar. During the raid, they found 10 transgender individuals involved in obscene acts in public, causing a disturbance to local residents. The police immediately took them into custody.
On Sunday, the AHTU team, along with the Saroornagar police and the Special Operations Team (SOT) from L.B. Nagar, carried out the operation. After apprehending the individuals, they were handed over to the Saroornagar police for further legal action. A case was registered under Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8 of the Immoral Traffic Prevention (ITP) Act.
The arrested individuals were identified as Polloju Sindhu (32) from Miryalaguda, Nalgonda, and nine others—Tiyas (20), Julli Shankar Pramank (27), Mahi Ghosh (26), Sonabiwal (31), Butiy (27), Diya Shankar (27), Amrutha Bail (26), Punnya Bairagya (33), and Noor Mohammad (42)—all from West Bengal. The police also seized 12 mobile phones, 23 condom packs, and other items from the scene.
The raid was conducted following repeated complaints from residents of P&T Colony and Kattakinda Kallu Compound. Locals reported that illegal and antisocial activities were frequently taking place in the area, making it a hotspot for unlawful transactions. Many residents were concerned about public safety and the increasing disturbances.
Authorities have assured the public that strict measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future. Police officials have also warned that anyone found engaging in similar activities will face severe legal consequences.
