Agriculture Minister engages in video call discussion with farmers on Raitu Bharosa

Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao spoke to farmers about the Rythu Bharosa Scheme through a video conference. Some farmers suggested a 5-acre limit for the scheme instead of 10 acres, with extra funds going to small and marginal farmers.

During the Kharif season with good rains, farmers emphasized the need for timely insurance funds. They want the Rythu Bharosa Scheme to benefit small and marginal farmers who truly work in agriculture.

Some farmers feel that those who pay taxes and own more than ten acres don’t need farmer insurance. They also want tenant farmers to receive insurance, but some worry it could disadvantage landowners.

Farmers appreciated Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for waiving a two-lakh rupee loan but were upset they couldn’t speak during the meeting due to technical issues with the microphone.

Officials explained that the microphone at the Rythu Vedika had been faulty for some time, with thieves recently stealing the inverter. Farmers demanded better technical arrangements for future meetings.

Alampur ADA Sakriya Naik, Aija AO Shankar Lal Naik, and officials from seven mandals, along with farmers from various villages, took part in the discussion.
