On Monday evening, the Additional Collector conducted a surprise inspection of a hostel. During the visit, he checked the cleanliness of the kitchen and evaluated the quality of the food being served to the students.
The inspection came after the government recently increased the mess charges for students by 40 percent. In light of this, the Additional Collector directed the hostel warden to ensure that the food quality and sanitation standards are maintained at a high level and that there are no deficiencies.
During his visit, the Additional Collector also interacted with the students to understand their concerns and identify any issues they were facing. This step was taken to ensure that the increased charges were justified by improvements in services and facilities.
