Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has issued a second notice to BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR), asking him to appear for questioning on January 9 without bringing along his advocates.

When KTR arrived at the ACB office in Banjara Hills, he was denied entry as he insisted on having his legal team accompany him. In response, he submitted a letter to the police officials. KTR requested the ACB to defer the questioning until the High Court pronounces its judgment on a related case. He emphasized that any further action should align with the court’s orders.

KTR also expressed concerns about the lack of clarity from the ACB. He stated that the bureau had not provided details about the information or documents they required from him. He requested a reasonable amount of time to review and submit the necessary documents. “As a law-abiding citizen, I will cooperate in the matter, subject to the constitutional and legal rights provided by law,” KTR assured.

Speaking to reporters, KTR claimed to have received information about a potential raid on his house. He accused the police of employing questionable tactics, similar to those allegedly used against Patnam Narendar Reddy. He insisted that his legal team be allowed to accompany him and demanded a written explanation if such support was prohibited.

KTR further accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of orchestrating the ACB probe to divert attention from the Congress government’s failures. He specifically mentioned the alleged betrayal of farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. Additionally, KTR alleged a conspiracy to plant illegal items in his residence as part of a politically motivated agenda.
