    Hyderabad:

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is currently investigating allegations of irregularities in the organization of the Formula E race. As part of the probe, the ACB has summoned BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) and two officials, Arvind Kumar and BLN Reddy, for questioning.

KTR has been asked to appear before the ACB on January 6. Meanwhile, the two officials, former MAUD Secretary Arvind Kumar and HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy, have been called in for questioning on January 11 and 12, respectively.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the ACB, KTR has been named as the prime accused in the case. Allegations have also been made against Arvind Kumar and BLN Reddy regarding their roles in the alleged irregularities. In addition, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned KTR for questioning on January 7. However, the BRS leader has requested additional time, citing his inability to attend on the specified date.

KTR received temporary relief from the Telangana High Court, which directed the ACB not to arrest him until the court makes a decision on his petition. However, the court allowed the ACB to continue its investigation, enabling the agency to summon the accused for questioning.

KTR has maintained that the allegations against him are baseless and has expressed confidence in facing the case legally. He insists that there were no irregularities in the payments and has stated that he is prepared to defend himself in court. It remains to be seen whether KTR will attend the inquiry as scheduled or seek further legal recourse.
