The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is now offering a “snack box” to passengers traveling long distances in their AC buses. This new initiative will start on Saturday in 9 electric e-Garuda buses on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route. Depending on how it goes, they may offer it on other services too.
The TSRTC already provides water bottles in their AC services. Now, they’re working on providing fresh snack boxes as a pilot project. The snack box has namkeen and chikki packets, mouth freshener, and a tissue paper. The nominal price of the snack box is Rs 30, which is included in the ticket rate.
TSRTC MD, VC Sajjanar, said that the corporation is always looking for innovative ways to reach out to people. That’s why they decided to give snack boxes to passengers. The United Nations declared 2023 as the International Year of Snacks, which is why the TSRTC took this initiative.
Each snack box has a QR code that passengers can scan on their phones to offer valuable advice and suggestions. The TSRTC will make changes and additions to the snack box based on this feedback.
