AAP to contest Arunachal Pradesh assembly seats with candidate fielding plans

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which became a national party after forming governments in Delhi and Punjab, has announced that it will field candidates for all assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh has 60 assembly seats, and the AAP plans to contest for all of them, as well as two Lok Sabha seats next year. The party promises to provide free water, power, medical facilities up to Rs 10 lakh, and world-class education once the government is formed. The AAP also vows to abolish the controversial Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (APUAPA) 2014 and the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act 1978 if elected.

Several organizations in Arunachal Pradesh have called for the removal of APUAPA. By 2023, the AAP aims to have governments in both Delhi and Punjab. In addition to Arunachal Pradesh, the party will also field candidates in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh for the upcoming assembly elections in November and December.
