The Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) Camp – I, held at Vardhaman Engineering College in Shamshabad, Hyderabad, successfully concluded on Monday. The camp was organized by NCC Group Secunderabad, under the supervision of NCC Directorate AP and Telangana. Around 600 cadets from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Telangana participated in the camp.
The main objective of the camp was to promote interaction and understanding among people from different states. The cadets engaged in various activities to foster cultural connections, including language learning, sharing traditions and music, promoting tourism and cuisine, and exchanging best practices.
It was heartening to see the cadets from Telangana greeting their friends with ‘Sat Sri Akal’ and the Punjab cadets greeting with ‘Namaste, Bagunnara’. The menu at the camp included dishes from Telangana, Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh cuisines.
The cadets received training in military and job proficiency. They attended lectures by military and civil speakers and learned the basics of self-defense. The camp aimed to provide comprehensive all-round development for the cadets.
Various competitions were organized between different NCC directorates and groups. The camp concluded with a cultural program that showcased the art forms of all participating states.
Col Sanjay Sayal, the group commander of NCC Group Secunderabad, presented prizes to the cadets. He expressed gratitude to Col. Piyush Srivastava, the camp commandant, Lt Col S Magendran, the deputy camp commandant, and other staff members. He also thanked Dr JVR Ravindra, the college principal, for providing the buildings and infrastructure for the camp.
