Doctors at Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad successfully performed a brain aneurysm surgery for a 55-year-old woman from Sultanabad. The woman has recovered and is now living a normal life in Karimnagar.
The patient, named Vijaya, was comatose when she arrived at the hospital two months ago. After performing a CT and angio scan, the doctors discovered that she had middle cerebral artery (MCA) aneurysms.
A team of doctors, led by Drs KS Kiran, BJ Rajesh, and Vishwanath, performed the procedure using advanced technologies for monitoring the brain. They used Transcranial Doppler (TCD) to monitor her health and administered an intra-arterial milrinone injection to restore blood flow.
Dr Kiran emphasized that the procedure was affordable and covered by the Arogyasri health insurance program. He also urged people not to ignore persistent headaches and dizziness, as they could be early signs of aneurysms. He advised seeing a neurosurgeon if experiencing ongoing headaches, as not all headaches are migraines.
