At least 26 political parties and 53 leaders are gathering in Bengaluru for a high-profile meeting to discuss their strategy against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. They will also decide on a name for their alliance, with the slogan “United We Stand.”

This meeting follows a similar gathering in Patna, Bihar, that took place last month. The Congress party stated that this meeting is significant as 11 additional parties will be joining. The agenda includes joint programs at the national level and strategies for the upcoming Parliament session.

The Congress party also criticized the BJP over various issues, such as the Manipur violence and the recent Maharashtra political crisis. They believe that the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are “baffled” by the unity of the opposition.

The meeting will take place at Taj West End Hotel, where Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar is overseeing the preparations. All opposition leaders will be staying at a five-star hotel in the city.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav expressed confidence that the BJP will be defeated in the upcoming elections, stating that two-thirds of the population is against them. He believes that the people of the country will give the BJP a massive defeat.
