225 Villas in Chitrapuri Colony to be Demolished by HMDA

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has issued notices to 225 villas in Chitrapuri Colony, located in Manikonda, for breaking building rules. These villas are accused of exceeding approved height limits by constructing Ground plus 2 (G+2) floors, even though they had permission for only Ground plus 1 (G+1) floors. The owners of these villas have been given 15 days to respond to the notices.

The Metropolitan Commissioner of HMDA has also sent a notice to the President of the Telugu Cine Workers Co-operative Housing Society Ltd, which is responsible for Chitrapuri Colony. The notice asks for an explanation regarding the complaints filed against the construction activities. Additionally, the commissioner has ordered a halt to any further construction in the colony. If the construction continues, action will be taken according to the rules.

The HMDA officials mentioned that these 225 row houses were built in violation of Government Order MS 658 from the Revenue (ASN-III) department. Upon inspecting the site, officials observed that the executive committee of the Telugu Cine Workers Co-operative Housing Society Ltd had constructed the row houses without following the approved plans. They found that additional built-up areas were added illegally, and some unauthorized constructions were made on the permitted floors.
