The second special summary revision-2023 for voter enrolment in Hyderabad has been completed. A total of 13.06 lakh applications were received for inclusion of names, 6.26 lakh applications for removal of deceased or relocated persons, and 7.77 lakh applications for modification of details in the electoral rolls. From January to September, 14.72 lakh persons were added, 3.39 lakh persons were deleted, and 10.95 lakh persons had their details modified in the electoral rolls.
As a result of these changes, the total number of voters in the electoral rolls is now 3.13 crore, with 1.57 crore men, 1.56 crore women, and 2,226 belonging to the third gender. The gender ratio in the electoral rolls is 994, which is considered healthy. There has been a significant increase in young voters, with a 234% increase in the 18-19 years age group.
However, the gender ratio in the 18-19 years age group is still a matter of concern at 717. Efforts are being made to improve this and bring it in line with the gender ratio of the overall voters. All applications received until September 19 will be processed by September 27, and the final rolls will be published on October 4.
Even though the deadline for submission of claims and objections has passed, eligible citizens can still apply for additions, deletions, or modifications in the electoral rolls. These applications will be processed as part of the continuous updation process of the electoral roll.
