Khammam: The state government has extended the deadline to apply for the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme. District Collector Muzammil Khan announced on Tuesday that the new deadline is April 14.
The Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme is designed to help young people in the state become self-employed. The government has allocated a large amount of money for this purpose. Support will be provided to youth from SC, ST, BC, EBC, and minority communities.
Under the scheme, 50,000 units will get a full (100%) subsidy, 1 lakh units will get 90% subsidy, 2 lakh units will get 80%, and up to 4 lakh units will receive 70% subsidy. Those starting small irrigation projects will receive 100% subsidy, and vulnerable groups can get a 90% subsidy up to Rs 1 lakh.
To be eligible, applicants in rural areas must have an annual income below Rs 1.5 lakh, and those in urban areas must earn less than Rs 2 lakh. If their names are not on white ration cards, they must provide an income certificate.
For non-agriculture schemes, applicants must be between 21 and 55 years old. However, those starting agriculture-related businesses can apply up to the age of 60. Only one person from a family can benefit from the scheme within a five-year period.
Interested youth must apply online and submit necessary documents. These include Aadhaar card, ration card or income certificate, caste certificate, a valid driving licence for transport-related schemes, Pattadar passbook for agriculture schemes, disability certificate if applicable, a passport-size photo, and a certificate from the local committee for vulnerable groups if needed.
Once selected, beneficiaries will receive official approval papers. They will also be trained on how to start and run their businesses successfully.
