Yusuf Pathan criticized Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) management for not supporting Umran Malik in IPL 2023. Malik, a speedster from Jammu and Kashmir, has been warming benches for SRH despite his impressive performances in the last two IPLs. Pathan said that Malik is India’s future and has played well for the national team. He accused the franchise of mismanaging many players, including Abhishek Sharma, and not utilizing them properly. Hyderabad is currently at the bottom of the table, and Malik has only played seven matches, taking five wickets.
Pathan highlighted that Malik needed support from the franchise this year, but they failed to utilize him. He criticized the management for not using Sharma to his potential and even benching him at one point. Pathan urged the franchise to back their players and play with the opposition’s mind instead of their own players.
Hyderabad’s poor performances this season have been evident in all departments. Despite Malik’s exceptional performances in the past, he has only played a few matches this season and has not been utilized properly by the franchise.
