The YSRCP announced its fifth list of candidates for Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies, bringing the total number of candidates announced by the ruling party to 65. The names of the candidates were announced by Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and party’s State general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy at the party’s headquarters in Tadepalli.
The fifth list includes candidates for four Parliamentary and three MLA segments. Similar to the previous lists, the YSRCP has dropped three out of four sitting MPs and all three MLAs from the list.
The new contenders for Parliament include Sunil Chalamalasetty for the Kakinada MP seat, Simhadri Ramesh Babu for the Machilipatnam MP seat, and former Nellore City MLA and Irrigation Minister Anil Kumar Yadav for the Narasaraopet MP seat. MP Maddila Gurumurthy, who was earlier named as Sathyavedu MLA candidate, has been given the ticket to contest from Tirupati again.
In the list of Assembly constituencies, Chetti Palguna has been replaced by Regam Matsalingam in the Araku Valley (SC) constituency. Koneti Adimulam has been dropped from the Satyavedu Assembly constituency and replaced by Nookathoti Rajesh. Dr Simhadri Chandrasekhar Rao has been given an MLA ticket for Avanigadda.
In addition, YSRCP regional coordinator Vijaysai Reddy has been given the additional responsibility of Guntur Parliamentary Constituency, while Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has been appointed as regional coordinator for Ongole Parliamentary constituency and Kandukur, Santhanuthalapadu, and Kavali Assembly constituencies.
