Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has instructed officials to provide 80% compensation to the boats affected by the fire at Visakhapatnam fishing harbour. The fire destroyed 36 fishing boats and partially damaged 9 others. The Chief Minister expressed his concern for the fishermen and urged officials to show empathy by providing compensation. The loss caused by the fire is estimated to be around Rs 12 crore, and a multidisciplinary probe will be conducted to investigate the incident. Fisheries Minister Dr S Appala Raju and the district collector A Mallikharjuna have visited the site and assured the victims of government support.
