    Hyderabad: Endowments Minister Konda Surekha has instructed officials to complete the gold plating of the Gopuram at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Yadagirigutta by May 1, 2025, during the Brahmotsavam festival.

    The Minister held a review meeting with temple officials ahead of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s visit to Yadagirigutta on Friday. During the meeting, she expressed pride that the first and highest Swarna Gopuram in Telangana belongs to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. She also mentioned that the government is working with a clear plan to make Telangana’s temples more sacred and peaceful places.

    Kishan Rao, the vice chairman of the Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority (YTDA), shared updates about the temple’s development. He revealed that 1,241.36 acres of land had been acquired for the temple’s growth and surrounding areas. He also mentioned that an additional 101.10 acres would be acquired for future needs, but this decision is still under review by the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District Collector. Minister Surekha stated that she would make a decision on this land acquisition after another review meeting.

    The Minister also asked for details on the compensation and benefits for those who lost their homes due to the expansion of the Gali Gopuram. She specifically inquired about the shutters to be provided to 162 affected people and requested that YTDA officials gather exact information for the Chief Minister’s review tomorrow.

    Regarding the ongoing gold plating work on the Vimana Gopuram, Minister Surekha said that 1,600 square feet of the total 10,000 square feet has been completed. The remaining gold plating is scheduled to begin on November 15. So far, Rs 8 crore has been spent on the project, with 60 kg of gold procured for the work.

    The Minister added that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will conduct the Maha Kumbhabhishekam ceremony for the Vimana Gopuram. She instructed the temple’s Executive Officer to provide all necessary details for the review meeting on the temple’s development, which will be led by the Chief Minister tomorrow.
