    Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav has emphasized the importance of addressing the conflict between humans and elephants, as well as ensuring safe pathways for elephants. He has called for the establishment of more rescue and rehabilitation facilities for elephants, as well as the enhancement of skills and expertise among field staff and veterinarians.

    During the 19th Steering Committee Meeting of Project Elephant in Bhubaneswar, the Union minister discussed the challenges faced in elephant conservation and management. He highlighted the role of elephants as ecosystem engineers, shaping the landscape and creating habitats for other animals.

    As part of the World Elephant Day celebration, Yadav released a report on Elephant Corridors in India that was prepared by Project Elephant.
