    The International Women’s Day celebrations were held in a grand manner at the District Collectorate’s conference hall in Gadwal. The event was organized by the District Women and Child Welfare Department. District Collector B.M. Santosh, Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, and SP Srinivasa Rao inaugurated the program.

    Speaking at the event, Collector Santosh emphasized that the progress of women leads to the development of society. He urged everyone to support women’s empowerment and help them succeed in all fields. He mentioned that 30 to 40 women officers are currently working in different departments in the district, including as District Officials, MPDOs, and Tahsildars. He also stressed the need for political reservations for women beyond local governance, such as in MP and MLA positions.

    MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy stated that the government prioritizes women’s success in all fields. He mentioned that various welfare schemes are being introduced to benefit women. He reiterated that when women progress, society flourishes, and he encouraged everyone to support women’s empowerment.

    SP Srinivasa Rao highlighted the significant role of women in society. He pointed out that even in mythology, women have been given great importance. He also mentioned that the government is providing nutritious food to pregnant women to ensure their health. A healthy society is only possible when women are healthy, he added.

    During the event, prizes were awarded to the winners of various competitions held as part of the Women’s Day celebrations. Women employees who performed exceptionally in their duties and students who participated in cultural programs were also honored.

    The celebration was attended by Additional Collectors Lakshmi Narayana and Narsinga Rao, District Welfare Officer Sunanda, DCPO Officer Narsinghlu, women officers, Anganwadi teachers, and several others.

    The grand event underscored the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment. It also reinforced the importance of collective efforts in ensuring equal opportunities for women in all areas of life.
