A woman traveling on a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus on the Gadwal – Wanaparthy route gave birth to a baby girl on Monday. In a kind gesture, the TSRTC offered the newborn child a lifetime of free travel on their buses.

The RTC also extended a special offer to Alivelu Mangamma, a staff nurse at Wanaparthy Government Hospital, who helped with the delivery. She was given a one-year free bus pass for deluxe and super luxury bus services. Conductor G Bharati, who also assisted during the delivery, was recognized and honored with a cash prize by RTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar and other senior officials.

The incident occurred when Sandhya, a resident of Gadwal, was on her way to Wanaparthy to celebrate ‘Raksha Bandhan’. As the bus neared Nachahalli, Sandhya suddenly went into labor. Conductor Bharati quickly recognized the urgency of the situation and alerted the driver to stop the bus. Bharati and nurse Mangamma then helped Sandhya deliver the baby right on the bus.

After the successful delivery, both the mother and her newborn daughter were taken to a nearby hospital. There, they were confirmed to be stable and receiving the necessary medical care. Later, the free bus pass for the child was handed over to Gadwal depot manager Murali Krishna, while the nurse received her one-year free bus pass.
