The State government in Hyderabad will order a judicial probe into the Kaleshwaram project within a week. This was announced by Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who also stated that those found guilty will not be let off.
During a press conference at the Secretariat, Uttam Kumar Reddy reassured the public that the Congress government will fulfill its commitment to investigate the Kaleshwaram project, as promised in their party manifesto. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also made a similar assurance in the Legislative Council. The judicial inquiry will begin this week and those responsible will face consequences.
Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasized that the current Congress government, led by Revanth Reddy, believes in transparency. A team of cabinet ministers, accompanied by media representatives, visited the Medigadda barrage to assess the situation. The Congress government is determined to order a probe and hold the guilty accountable.
He dismissed the allegations made by Kishan Reddy, stating that they are far from the truth. Uttam accused Kishan Reddy of trying to mislead the public with baseless accusations against the Congress party. He strongly condemned these accusations and reiterated that the Congress government has been transparent in its actions.
Uttam Kumar highlighted the fact that the BRS government in Telangana and the BJP government at the Centre worked together for almost 3,500 days. However, Kishan Reddy is targeting the new Congress government in Telangana, which has only been in power for less than 20 days. Uttam ridiculed Kishan’s allegations and questioned why the BJP leaders remained inactive during the previous 10 years when the Kaleshwaram project scam took place under the BRS government.
The Minister criticized BJP leaders, including PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda, for discussing the Kaleshwaram “scam” without initiating any inquiry by the CBI or Enforcement Directorate. He pointed out the contrasting approach where the BJP government targets opposition leaders in different states but fails to order any investigation against the KCR government, despite serious corruption allegations.
