Hyderabad: The BRS and Congress parties are preparing for political moves after the exit poll results gave mixed predictions for the Assembly election. The Election Commission has made arrangements for vote counting, and both parties have plans to prevent any poaching. Leaders of the BRS and Congress have been holding meetings and giving instructions to their members. The votes will be counted at 8 am to determine whether the voters prefer the BRS government, Congress’s six guarantees, or the BJP’s BC chief minister “mantra,” or if there will be a fractured result. The Congress party has booked over 50 rooms in Taj Krishna and asked candidates to come to Hyderabad. The BRS has also asked candidates to come to Hyderabad once their results are announced. Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with TPCC leaders to review their preparedness for the results.
There were 2,290 contestants in the election, but all eyes are on the Gajwel constituency, where BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao is contesting against his friend-turned-foe Etela Rajender. Kamareddy is another important constituency where KCR is contesting against TPCC president A Revanth Reddy. Both KCR and Revanth are also contesting from other constituencies. Other important candidates include KT Rama Rao from Sircilla, BJP Lok Sabha members Bandi Sanjay Kumar, D Arvind, and Soyam Bapu Rao. AIMIM has put up candidates in nine segments in the city, and there are several triangular contests in different segments.
Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj has announced that the counting will start with postal ballots at 8 am and then move on to counting votes in EVMs at 8:30 am. Each counting center will have 14 counting tables, except for six constituencies with more than 500 polling stations, which will have 28 counting tables. Security forces will be present at every counting center.
