The residents of West Marredpally in Hyderabad staged a protest on Tuesday. They were upset because the Secunderabad Cantonment Board had not provided a permanent solution to the sewage water overflow in their area.

Around 80 people took part in a silent rally to express their frustration. They accused officials of ignoring their complaints and failing to take proper action.

Residents said that sewage water overflowing onto the roads was damaging them and making the area dirty. They have been facing this issue for the past two years. They believe that an underground drainage pipeline is needed to stop the problem.

A resident named Shirish said that they had been requesting officials to lay a proper drainage outlet for a long time. However, every time they complained, the officials only gave temporary relief instead of a permanent solution. Frustrated with the ongoing issue, they decided to protest to get the authorities’ attention.

Another resident mentioned that whenever they complained, officials would visit and clear the area but never provide a lasting fix. Due to this, groundwater was getting contaminated, and a foul smell was spreading in the locality. He added that living in such conditions had become a nightmare for the residents.
