Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has told opposition parties to stop dreaming about toppling his government. He stressed that the Congress in the state is united and has a strong relationship with the party’s high command. Key leaders like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi fully trust him and his team of ministers.

Revanth Reddy stated that politics has changed significantly since 2010, and everyone, including the opposition, needs to adapt. He described the Congress as one big “joint family” where members are united, though they have the freedom to express their opinions. He assured that these differences do not indicate any weakness in the government. Confidently, he said, “We will be in power for another nine years.”

When asked about claims from the opposition that his own party members may try to remove him, Revanth Reddy dismissed such concerns. He said that while it is natural for people to have ambitions, the entire party is focused on fulfilling the promises made by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. He emphasized that the party stands united in its commitment to these goals.

Regarding major infrastructure projects like the Metro Rail and the Outer Ring Road (ORR), Revanth Reddy explained that the Metro Rail project would be a joint effort between the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL), the central government, and the state government. Some other projects, he mentioned, would be executed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The state government will contribute its share to these projects and is confident in its ability to do so.

When asked about his relationship with AIMIM, Revanth clarified that the government is working with them to release funds for development projects, but beyond this, there is no special relationship between the two parties.

Talking about the state’s financial situation, Revanth Reddy revealed that the state needs over Rs 30,000 crore per month to implement all its schemes. Currently, however, they can only raise around Rs 18,500 crore. Of this, Rs 6,500 crore goes towards repaying debts, and another Rs 6,500 crore is used for salaries and pensions. This leaves the government with very little money, but they are making all possible efforts to increase revenue and are optimistic about overcoming the financial challenges soon.

On the issue of the slow progress in investigations into projects like Kaleshwaram, Telephone tapping, and the E-Formula race, Revanth Reddy stated that his government does not believe in vindictive politics. He assured that the legal system is being followed properly, and there is no way to rush the process beyond what is legally permitted.
