Hyderabad, July 6 (Namaste Telangana): Thousands of youth in the country are struggling for employment. The latest report from the CMI states that the rate of unemployment has reached an alarming level. However, the BJP government at the center has not taken any measures to address this issue. In fact, there are currently 25 percent vacant posts in various government departments. The recruitment process has been halted and vacancies remain unfilled. The annual report of “Pay and Allowances” released by the Ministry of Finance reveals this information.

In March 2004, when the NDA government was in power, there were 12.1 percent vacant posts in central government departments. By March 2014, this had increased to 11.6 percent. After coming to power, the BJP government reduced the recruitment process, resulting in a significant increase in the number of vacant positions. As of March 2022, there are 24.3 percent vacant posts in central government departments, according to the “Pay and Allowances” report. Currently, the government is planning to recruit only 15 percent of the total number of employees required. The BJP government in the center has approved the recruitment of 30.13 lakh positions out of the 39.77 lakh positions proposed. This means that there are still 9.64 lakh vacant posts. The Center is also temporarily managing permanent positions with contract employees and outsourcing, which is exacerbating the problem of unemployment.

Vacancies in central government departments have reached a new peak. In 2004, during the “India Shining” era (when the Vajpayee government was in power), there were 12.1 percent vacancies in central government departments. Due to mismanagement, corruption allegations, and inefficiencies, vacancies decreased to 11 percent during the Manmohan Singh government (in March 2014). However, under the “Achhe Din” promised by Modi, vacancies have now reached 25 percent. Is this what they call “Sab Changa Si” (everything is fine)? Jai Hind!
