    Hyderabad recently conducted a one-day training program for police officers in preparation for the upcoming Assembly Elections. The training took place at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer in BRKR bhavan and aimed to improve the understanding of security measures for the police officials involved in the electoral process.

    During the training, CEO Vikas Raj emphasized the challenges posed by technology and the need for swift corrective measures. The training provided an opportunity for police officers to learn new strategies and techniques for ensuring security during elections.

    Anjani Kumar updated the officers on various security-related aspects, including vehicle checks for illegal transportation of cash or liquor and the management of polling stations on election day. He highlighted the importance of maintaining good practices and transparency for peaceful and fair elections.

    Nearly 700 police personnel have been reshuffled according to the Election Commission’s directives, and approximately 80-85 check posts have been established along inter-state borders with Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Orissa. These checkpoints are equipped with closed-circuit cameras to enhance security measures.

    CEO Aariz Aftab of West Bengal provided a detailed presentation on preparatory work leading up to the elections, including categorization of polling booths and vulnerability assessments. Thiru Satyabrata Sahoo, CEO of Tamil Nadu, facilitated senior police officers in understanding the deployment and de-induction of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), as well as maintaining law and order and adhering to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and expenditure monitoring.

    Overall, the training program aimed to equip police officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure a smooth and secure electoral process.
