The HMWSSB board in Hyderabad announced that water tankers will be available 24/7 starting in the first week of April due to increased demand. This decision was made during a summer review meeting led by Municipal and Urban Development Chief Secretary M Dana Kishore and HMWSSB Managing Director Sudarshan Reddy.

Dana Kishore mentioned that this year there has been a 50% increase in the demand for water tankers compared to last year. To meet this demand, an action plan has been put in place to provide 9,000 trips of water per day. Special night shifts have been arranged to supply water for commercial purposes, with 300 additional trips per day for commercial customers. 250 new tankers are being arranged along with 250 drivers provided by GHMC.

By the first week of April, additional filling stations will be set up within GHMC and beyond, including 20 new filling stations in ORR. Plans are also in place to purchase more tankers if needed to ensure better services for customers. Officials have been instructed to deliver water within 24 hours of booking a tanker, with SMS notifications suggested in case of delays.
