The fate of the ruling BRS party and the Congress in Telangana will be decided today. Most exit polls are favoring the Congress, but BRS leaders believe they can still win and form the government for the third time. Congress supporters are excited and hopeful that this election will end the BRS’s two-term regime.
Today’s counting will determine the outcome of 189 candidates from the 12 constituencies in the Warangal district. In the previous election, BRS won 10 seats while Congress won two, with one defection to the ruling party.
Counting of votes will take place in five locations. Five constituencies including Warangal East, West, Parkal, Narsampet, and Wardhannapet will be counted at Enumamula market yard in Warangal. Jangaon, Palakurthi, and Station Ghanpur seats will be counted at Vidya Bharati Engineering College in Jangaon. Dornakal and Mahabubabad constituencies will be counted at the social welfare gurukul school in Mahabubabad. Bhupalpally constituency will be counted at the local Ambedkar Stadium, and Mulugu seat will be counted at Mulugu collectorate.
To maintain peace and order, rallies and firecrackers are banned at all counting centers. Liquor shops will also be closed.
