Hyderabad: The Telangana State Wakf Board chairman, Azmathullah Hussaini, has promised to rebuild the demolished mosque in Chilkur village, Moinabad. The reconstruction will be supervised by the Wakf Board along with local residents, including both Muslims and Hindus.
The chairman explained that the 400-year-old mosque was demolished by some real estate miscreants for their own benefit. He clarified that the demolition had nothing to do with the local community, and there is no conflict between the Muslims and Hindus living there. In fact, even the Hindu residents are unhappy about the incident. The main person responsible for the demolition has been arrested.
Azmathullah also mentioned that the Wakf Board has documents showing that the mosque has four guntas of land. The local people agree with this and have promised to help with the mosque’s reconstruction.
He assured that after the Bonalu festival, a plan and estimate for the mosque’s construction will be prepared within seven days. The Wakf Board will then begin the construction work.
There is some disagreement among the local population about the mosque’s existence, but both sides have agreed to cooperate for its construction. Talks are ongoing with local landowners to secure a pathway from the mosque to the main road. Azmathullah is confident that the land for the pathway will be acquired.
