BRS leader B Vinod Kumar is calling for the government to regularize Inclusive Education Resource Persons (IERPs) who have been teaching mentally challenged students in the state for the past 20 years. He pointed out that previous efforts to regularize them were halted when the Election Code came into effect, but now with the Mega DSC being introduced by the Congress government, he believes their services should be recognized.

There are currently 1,523 teaching positions for students with mental disabilities in the state, with 996 IERPs working to educate them. Vinod Kumar is advocating for these IERPs to be regularized and for the remaining positions to be filled through the DSC. He argues that since junior and degree lecturers on contract have been regularized, there should be no obstacles to regularizing IERPs as well.

Vinod Kumar emphasized the unique challenges faced by IERPs, including low pay, limited opportunities for advancement, and many being over age for regular DSC competitions. He urged the government to consider their special circumstances and fulfill the Congress party’s election promise to regularize them.

In conclusion, Vinod Kumar highlighted the important work being done by IERPs in educating students with mental disabilities and called for their recognition and regularization by the government.
