In Konakondla village, located in the Uravakonda constituency of Anantapur district, villagers took to the streets to protest the lack of drinking water. They expressed their frustration by blocking the road with water tankers.

The villagers declared they would not end their protest until the water supply issue was fixed. Although the authorities sent about 10 tankers to provide water, it wasn’t enough for the large village, especially with the festive season underway.

The problem worsened when employees of the Sri Sathya Sai and Sriramireddy drinking water schemes stopped pumping water. These employees have been on strike for the past 20 days, leaving many villages in the district without drinking water.
