Vijaya Dairy has decided to increase the price it pays to farmers for milk. This move is aimed at encouraging dairy farming. The company plans to raise the price by up to ₹3 per liter. This is the fourth time Vijaya Dairy has revised its prices. Currently, the company pays ₹8 to ₹9 more per liter compared to other private and cooperative dairies.

Officials have proposed an increase of ₹3 per liter for cow milk, bringing the price to ₹42.24 per liter. Similarly, the price for buffalo milk is expected to be ₹51.00 per liter. These proposals have been submitted for government approval.

Meanwhile, Telangana is facing competition from milk imported from neighboring states like Karnataka and Maharashtra. Private dairies and cooperatives are bringing in cow milk at lower prices, between ₹27 and ₹32 per liter. They then sell it in Telangana at higher rates after adding marketing commissions. This is affecting Vijaya Dairy’s sales.

Another challenge for Vijaya Dairy is the illegal sale of milk under its brand name. Some unauthorized dairies are misusing the Vijaya brand, further reducing its market share. Currently, Vijaya Dairy sells about 2.8 lakh liters of milk daily. To counter these issues, the company is working on increasing sales, ensuring faster payments to farmers, and supporting them better.

In a recent meeting, Vijaya Dairy’s management prepared three new proposals. The company is also planning to request the government to clear old dues amounting to ₹50 crore. Additionally, efforts are being made to ensure milk bill payments are settled between the 5th and 20th of each month.
