The 56th edition of the Vigilance Bulletin ‘ANIMISHA’ was released by South Central Railway in Hyderabad on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week. The week will be observed by South Central Railway until November 5. As part of this campaign, awareness about the Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) resolution is being promoted through posters and digital displays in railway offices, units, and public places. The SCR vigilance team and field unit officials have conducted outreach activities at various railway stations to raise awareness about PIDPI. Videos about PIDPI provided by the central vigilance commission are also being shown through digital display systems.
Former central vigilance commissioner K V Chowdary emphasized the importance of processes and systems in a large organization like railways for transparency and accountability. He also warned about the misuse of technology and highlighted the role of vigilance in ensuring transparency. The General Manager of South Central Railway, Arun Kumar Jain, also stressed the importance of IT initiatives and the PIDPI complaint mechanism in maintaining transparency and accountability.
To mark the occasion, seminars and workshops are being conducted by the SCR vigilance team and field unit officials throughout the zone. These programs aim to enhance the skills and competency of railway officials in areas such as procurement, ethics, governance, cyber hygiene, and security. This will enable them to provide further in-house training.
Overall, the Vigilance Awareness Week is an important initiative by South Central Railway to promote transparency and accountability in its operations. Through various activities and awareness campaigns, they are working towards creating a vigilant and responsible organization.
