A team from Vietnam’s National Assembly and Agribank met with NABARD and NAFSCOB in New Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting aimed to understand the role of NABARD and NAFSCOB in agriculture and rural development in India, as well as discuss Indian cooperatives and agriculture credit policies.
Pham Duc An, the current Chairman of Agribank Vietnam and a member of the National Assembly of Vietnam, led the delegation. The meeting took place at NABARD tower in New Delhi.
During the meeting, NAFSCOB Chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao gave a presentation on Cooperative credit structure, progress, performance, problems, prospects, and strengthening measures. He explained the structure of institutions involved in agriculture credit, such as Reserve Bank of India, NABARD, PACS, and farmer societies.
The Vietnam delegation members highlighted the similarities between agriculture in India and Vietnam and were interested in understanding the evolution of NABARD and NAFSCOB’s role in fostering agriculture and rural development.
