Adilabad: A group of farmers visited the Superintendent of Police (SP) Akhil Mahajan at his camp office on Monday. They honored him with shawls and distributed sweets to express their gratitude.
Last year, six farmers had filed a complaint against an employee of the Adilabad Head Post Office. The employee had illegally transferred ₹8 lakh from their accounts into his personal account. Thanks to the efforts of the police, especially Cyber Crime DSP Hassibulla, the farmers were able to recover their money.
Speaking at the event, SP Akhil Mahajan noted that cybercrime is on the rise in today’s society. He urged the people of Adilabad district to report any cyber fraud immediately by calling the toll-free number 1930.
The affected farmers included Jillella Mohan from Bhimpur mandal, Nakkala Jagadish from Thantoli village, Nagubai Chinchu from Ghat village, Asamma from Arli mandal, and Jalala Venkati from Jagadamba Fertilizers.
