Hyderabad: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has accused the government of failing to prevent repeated attacks on Hindu temples in Telangana. The VHP announced that they will start protests if those responsible for these attacks are not arrested soon.
On Thursday, VHP national spokesperson, Ravinuthala Shashidhar, along with local representatives, visited a temple in Shamshabad that had been vandalized. Shashidhar criticized the government for not taking strong action against those attacking temples. He said the government has often dismissed these incidents as the work of madmen, which, according to him, has encouraged more attacks by what he called “Islamic fanatical jihadi forces.”
Shashidhar questioned why there was a delay in addressing the Shamshabad incident and pointed out that the Hindu community in the area had gathered to demand justice. He warned the government not to mistake the patience of Hindus for weakness and called for the immediate arrest of the culprits.
The VHP also demanded the arrest of Rohingya and Bangladeshi Muslims in the Shamshabad area. They further asked for an investigation into the activities of non-locals in the region.
