The Viswa Hindu Paishad-Telangana (VHP-TS) filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India against BRS working president K T Rama Rao for disrespectful comments about the slogan “Jai Sri Ram.” KTR had said at a public meeting in Malkajgiri that chanting the slogan would not provide jobs or food, which the VHP-TS found offensive.

The VHP-TS joint secretary, Dr. Ravinuthala Shashidar, stated that KTR’s remarks belittle the name of Bhagavan Sri Ram and hurt the sentiments of Hindus worldwide. The comments imply that chanting the sacred slogan has no practical value, which is insulting to the Hindu community.

The VHP-TS requested the ECI to take strict action against KTR for his offensive remarks and incitement of communal discord. They believe KTR’s disregard for religious sensitivities shows a deliberate attempt to cause division in society.
