Hyderabad: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has requested the Hyderabad police to stop a public meeting planned in the city. The event, called the Miraj-un-Nabi conference, is being organized by the All India Rahmate Alam Committee and is scheduled for Monday. The VHP is concerned because Mufti Salman Azari, a controversial figure, is expected to speak at the event.

VHP national spokesperson R. Shashidhar claimed that Mufti Salman Azari has a history of making inflammatory and hate-filled speeches. According to Shashidhar, these speeches often incite Muslim youth against Hindus and specifically target the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He described the statements made by Azari as divisive and harmful to communal harmony.

The VHP leader also pointed out that there are multiple criminal cases registered against Mufti Salman Azari in different parts of the country. Shashidhar mentioned that Azari had previously been detained under the Gujarat Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) for actions that endangered public order.

Given this background, the VHP believes that allowing Azari to speak at the conference could lead to disruptions in Hyderabad. Shashidhar urged the police to cancel the event to maintain peace in the city. He also requested that Azari be prevented from entering Hyderabad or addressing any public gatherings in the area.
