Hyderabad: State IT and Industry Minister Komtireddy Venkatreddy recently made some interesting comments about Telugu film hero Balakrishna.

Speaking to the media at the Assembly premises, the minister said that people are not watching Balakrishna’s movies as much anymore. He also claimed that the actor, who is also a TDP leader and MLA in Andhra Pradesh, does not have a big fan following.

Komtireddy further stated that he enjoys more popularity than Balakrishna. He said that whenever he visits districts, his supporters surround him and take selfies with him. At times, he even gets small injuries on his hands due to the crowd grabbing him. According to him, Balakrishna does not receive such attention from fans nowadays.

The minister also alleged that Balakrishna used to hit fans when they tried to greet him.

Speaking about development projects, Komatireddy mentioned that he took the initiative to start work on Uppal and Narapally flyovers. He said he convinced Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to approve the projects. He criticized former R&B Minister Prashant Reddy, saying that Reddy never met the Union Minister to get clearance for pending road projects during the BRS rule.

Komtireddy clarified that the road development under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) will not burden anyone, as the government will pay the construction costs in installments.

In the new financial year, the Roads and Buildings department will begin work on constructing new buildings for Osmania General Hospital and the High Court. Tenders for these projects have already been invited.

Additionally, the prestigious TIMS Hospitals at Sanath Nagar, Alwal, and Kothapet will be completed soon. The multi-specialty hospital in Warangal is also expected to open by next year.
