Shadnagar Celebrates Nehru's 135th Birth Anniversary
Shadnagar MLA V Shankar has praised Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, for his unforgettable contributions to the country. He made these remarks during celebrations marking Nehru’s 135th birth anniversary on Thursday.
The day was celebrated in a grand manner, with MLA Shankar paying floral tributes to Nehru’s portrait at several locations. These included the MLA camp office, Zilla Parishad Girls High School, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule School in Chatanpally, and Padmavati Colony.
During the event, Shankar highlighted Nehru’s role in shaping modern India through his initiatives, such as the Five-Year Plans. He also spoke about Nehru’s special bond with children, who affectionately called him “Chacha Nehru.” Nehru’s birthday, celebrated as Children’s Day, underscores his belief that children are the future of the nation.
The MLA further praised Nehru’s leadership style, noting that his peaceful governance continues to serve as an inspiration for today’s youth. Shankar mentioned that Nehru’s values still guide the governance in Telangana today.
In his speech, Shankar also criticized past governments for neglecting key sectors. He emphasized that under the current Congress government, led by Chief Minister Revanth, various sectors are being revitalized.
Addressing educational reforms, Shankar revealed that the government has undertaken significant steps, such as forming an Education Commission with experts. Teacher transfers, promotions, and new appointments are also part of the reforms aimed at providing a better future for children.
He added that the government has introduced Integrated Residential Schools in every constituency to offer quality education to underprivileged students.
