The Vice Chancellor of Telangana University, Dachepalli Ravinder, was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 to allot an examination center. When asked by the media for a comment while being taken to the hospital for a medical check-up by ACB sleuths, he refused to say anything. He did not answer when asked if he accepted the bribe and whether he thinks he was framed because he criticized the government. He also denied allegations that he took money for appointing lecturers on a contract basis.
It is believed that the Vice Chancellor was caught red-handed accepting the bribe. However, he did not give any explanation for his arrest.
