Congress MP candidate Vamshi Chand Reddy met with tribal community leaders in Mahabubnagar on Sunday. He reminded them that the Congress party has been working for the welfare and development of Scheduled Tribes (STs) and other marginalized communities in the country. District ST and Adivasi Cell president Lingya Nayak also attended the meeting.
Vamshi Chand highlighted Congress’ efforts for the welfare of STs and Adivasi communities. He emphasized the importance of uniting Banjara and Adivasi Congress activists to support the party. Vamshi Chand praised late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for her contributions to tribal welfare, such as including tribals in the ST list and providing reservations.
Concerned about the BJP government’s alleged neglect of tribal welfare, Vamshi Chand warned about threats to the Constitution if the BJP returns to power. He urged party workers to engage in door-to-door campaigning to reach out to voters. Bellaiah Naik, TPCC Adivasi wing chairman, criticized the BJP for its inaction towards tribal communities.
Vamshi Chand encouraged tribal and Adivasi voters to support the Congress in the upcoming elections. MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy emphasized the need to strengthen CM Revanth Reddy’s position through electoral victories. State Minority Finance and BC Corporation Chairpersons Obaidullah Kotwal and Srikanth Goud, along with district leaders, participated in the program.
