Valmidi in Jangaon district was filled with devotees as the rituals for the reinstallation of idols of Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy took place on Friday evening. The priests performed various rituals, including Go Puja, Pratishta Anujna, Viswaksena puja, and Punyahavacchanam, while hymns were chanted. Before the rituals began, the idols of Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy were brought from the old temple to Ramulagutta in a grand procession. Valmidi is believed to be the birthplace of Valmiki Maharshi, the author of Ramayana.
During the rituals, Usha Dayakar Rao, chairperson of Errabelli Charitable Trust, credited her husband Errabelli Dayakar Rao, the Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, for overseeing the construction of the new temple. She expressed her belief that the temple will become as popular as the Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam. The reinstallation of idols will be officiated by Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swami on September 4th. Later in the day, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will inaugurate the rebuilt temple and also lay the foundation stone for the tourism hotel at Palakurthi, along with inaugurating the Mission Bhagiratha guest house.
The district administration has made extensive arrangements to ensure the comfort of the large number of devotees expected to visit. Ministers T Harish Rao, Satyavathi Rathod, A Indrakaran Reddy, and V Srinivas Goud will also be in attendance.
